Fangda Partners has represented former NBA basketball player Michael Jordan in a trade mark infringement case against Fujian-based sportswear producer China Qiaodan Sports.
This is the third verdict made by the Supreme People's Court concerning a series of infringement cases regarding Jordan’s name and portrait. The latest ruling overturns two previous verdicts in favour of the Chinese firm and prohibits Qiaodan Sports from using the Chinese translation of Jordan's name and requires the logo to be retried by the trade mark office.
The team is led by Tian Tian and Fang Qi.
