PRC’s Beijing DHH Law Firm, Hong Kong law firm Fred Kan & Co and Macau’s L&L Law Firm have entered into a formal association in Shenzhen Qianhai Free Trade Area, which is the first joint association of firms from three jurisdictions within the Greater Bay Area.

According to the joint venture agreement, the law firm is registered and named as DHH Kan & LL (Qianhai) Law Firm and is expected to be officially established in early 2020. The core business of the firm is to provide high level comprehensive cross-border international legal services to the market based on the needs of the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and implementation of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.

Founded in 1993, Beijing DHH Law Firm is the head office of DeHeng Law Group. The firm is renowned for its expertise and experience in corporate, securities and capital markets, banking and trust, insurance, investment and financing, international trade, real estate and construction, intellectual property and dispute resolution.

Established in Hong Kong since 1981, Fred Kan & Co’s legal service team specialises in commercial, corporate and finance, China and foreign direct investment, urban planning and environmental protection, dispute resolution, intellectual property, employment and construction.

Macau’s L&L Law Firm was founded in 2008, with lawyers advising on commercial, criminal, administrative procedures, gambling law, M&A as well as labour litigation.

The association will be led by Zhifeng Tang, with Fred Kan and Wengpun Leong acting as director of the managing committee and vice director, respectively.
