While Vietnam remains a predominantly cash-based economy, its legal frame work on anti-money laundering, according to the Asian Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG)’s assessment in its Mutual Evaluation Report dated January 2022, is still incomprehensive and limited, which makes the country itself vulnerable to risks of money laundering.

The Hong Kong Labour Tribunal offers a comparatively quick, informal and inexpensive way of settling monetary disputes between employees and employers as compared to the Courts of Hong Kong. This makes it an attractive venue, particularly to employees with limited resources.

President Joko Widodo has signed Government Regulation No. 23 of 2022 (“GR No. 23/2022”) on Amendments to Government Regulation No. 45 of 2005 on The Establishment, Management, Supervision and Dissolution of State-Owned Enterprises. GR No. 23/2022 focuses on amending several provisions of GR No. 45/ 2005, particularly regarding senior officers and employees of State-Owned Enterprises (“BUMN”).
