NAME: Kwok Kit Cheung
LAW FIRM: Ince & Co
COUNTRY: Hong Kong SAR
PRACTICE AREAS: Construction
Kwok Kit Cheung of Ince & Co is our June lawyer of the month following his move from Deacons to join the firm's Hong Kong office as senior consultant. His arrival marks a strategic boost to Ince & Co's construction practice and reflects the firm's ongoing investment in top-tier talent. The appointment brings the total number of lawyers at Ince Hong Kong to 21, including seven partners.
As senior consultant at Ince & Co, Cheung brings over three decades of experience in construction litigation, arbitration, and mediation across Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China. Originally trained as a quantity surveyor, he combines technical insight with legal expertise, advising developers, contractors, and subcontractors on private and government building projects. His portfolio includes some of the region's most complex construction and shareholder disputes—representing a registered specialist contractor in a major industrial summons under the Buildings Ordinance from the Magistrates' Court to the Court of Final Appeal, and acting for a major developer in facade-related disputes arising from a prime shopping centre renovation. He also advised on a $1.3 billion (HK$10 billion) Macau casino project dispute and acted for a minority shareholder in a multi-billion Hong Kong dollar shareholders' dispute.
Prior to joining Ince & Co, Cheung had been a partner at Deacons since 2000, retiring from the partnership in January 2025 and serving as a consultant there before the move. He is currently ranked as a Distinguished Practitioner in asialaw for Construction.
