Nishimura & Asahi becomes the first Japanese law firm to enter the formal law alliance with a Singapore law firm Bayfront Law.

Nishimura & Asahi-Bayfront Law Alliance is looking to provide a one-stop platform for clients across the region with strength in both transactional and dispute resolution capabilities. Furthermore, the alliance will allow Nishimura’s Japanese lawyers who are qualified in Singapore to practice limited areas of Singaporean law.

Established in 2012, Nishimura & Asahi (Singapore) is led by Masato Yamanaka who specialises in cross-border M&A and finance and Shintaro Uno who focuses on international construction projects and disputes. The firm houses 12 lawyers including Japanese as well as foreign lawyers qualified in Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Bayfront Law started its operation in 2017 and has 12 lawyers focusing on private and public M&A, capital markets, investment funds as well as dispute resolution. The firm is led by Kesavan Nair who specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration.

Prior to this formal law alliance, both firms have shared a strong working experience and relationship with a deep understanding of its work culture and styles of each firm.
