Ian Teo joins hands with former Hill Dickinson senior associate Tang Chong Jun to set-up Helmsman. The specialist firm handles shipping disputes and has particular strength in the areas of shipbuilding and ship-repair, charterparty and bill of lading disputes and vessel mortgage enforcement. Additionally, the team is well-versed in regulatory restrictions and prohibitions on imports of commodities including palm oil, corn, steel and iron.
The firm is expected to grow to 10 specialists by the end of 2019 to include the likes of Zhida Chen and Jonthan Tan.
The firm has presence in Singapore and Hong Kong as Tang & Co.
