Franco Aristotle G. Larcina is a partner of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (SyCipLaw). Mr. Larcina specializes in investments, mergers and acquisitions, particularly in industries with FDI and nationality restrictions and in listed and public corporations. He has expertise in merger and competition law, securities regulations, and telecommunications, media, and technology (TMT) and data privacy. His significant past TMT work includes:

Advising a Malaysia-based tower enterprise in its investment in a local joint venture for engaging in the Philippine tower sector.
Advising a leading global payment solutions technology provider on various matters, including payment systems regulations and data privacy.

Advising a leading tower company in its participation in the auction of PLDT’s towers
Acting for a bidder in relation to its auction by Globe Telecoms of its data centers.

In investments and M&A, he regularly advises clients in a wide variety of industries on proposed mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, and has assisted in the conduct of several tender offers for listed and public companies. His more recent projects and work include advising GIC Special Investments, Ltd. in its cornerstone investment in Monde Nissin’s initial public offering, advising a leading tower company it its participating in the auction of PLDT’s towers, advising one of the bidders in the auction for Globe’s data centers, and advising a Malaysia-based tower company in its initial investment in a joint venture for engaging in the tower business as well as in its subsequent buy-out of its joint venture partner. He also recently acted as Philippine counsel to Grab Holdings, Inc. in relation to its business combination with Altimeter Growth Corp. – a special purpose acquisition company – which is the largest SPAC acquisition at that time.
