Carlos Roberto Z. Lopez specializes in dispute resolution and commercial arbitration. His areas of practice include litigation (civil, criminal and administrative), intra-corporate disputes, international commercial arbitration, patent infringement, estate proceedings, local taxation, mining, and general corporation law.

His arbitration work is complemented by his wide-ranging practice, which has included cases before the Philippine Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, Office of the Ombudsman, Sandiganbayan (Graft Court), the Intellectual Property Office, the Central Board of Assessment Appeals and local boards of assessment appeals, and administrative agencies such as the Philippine Competition Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Lopez is one of the firm’s active arbitration counsel having recently appeared or advised in claims against the Philippine government (for private sector contractors in significant infrastructure projects) and a major multinational entity (for a prominent distribution company).

He has been cited in Chambers, AsiaLaw Profiles, and Who's Who Legal: The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers as a leading Philippine practitioner in dispute resolution, international arbitration, and life sciences.

Mr. Lopez is a professorial lecturer on Evidence at the University of the Philippines College of Law. He is an accredited lecturer on pleading-writing, oral argument, and depositions/discovery in the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education program of the Philippine Supreme Court.
