Tan Rajah & Cheah is a disputes-focused firm that is led by the widely recognised and acclaimed senior counsel, Chelva Rajah. He is an active court lawyer, arbitration counsel of choice, former judicial commissioner, arbitrator and judge of the Qatar International Court since 2011. The firm is best known for its commercial litigation prowess and contentious family law expertise, and is a seasoned player in high-stakes, long-running and complex litigations. Work highlights 

Advised VTB Bank on proceedings to wind up Chinese conglomerate-owned AAG for a debt of $250 million under the GMRA form of contract. 

Engaged by the Government of Malaysia to assist in the recovery of seized 1MDB assets in Singapore. 

Represented Innovative Corporation on a complex claim against an errant director and his company for appropriating the client’s maturing business opportunity. 

Defended five individuals against claims of breaches of fiduciary duties, duties of skill and care and statutory duties, a case that concerns novel issues. This was the first case interpreting the Town Councils Act and the duties and obligations of town councillors.
