Overview

Dispute resolution boutique Rosetta Legal was established in late 2017 by Young Seok Lee, the former international dispute resolution practice leader at Yulchon. The firm specialises in domestic and international arbitration spanning all industry sectors. Since its inception, the firm has served as counsel in 13 arbitration cases. Lee is a member of both the ICC Korea international arbitration committee and the executive committee of the Korean Arbitrators’ Association. In the past he has served as chair of Korean Council for International Arbitration, secretary-general of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Center, and chair for the Korea International Trade Association. The firm welcomed David Yang as partner from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in September 2022.

Work highlights

Represented Chubb Insurance Australia, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, TT Club and Pusan New Port in a series of proceedings involving an allision of a container into a terminal in Pusan. This dispute stems from the allision of M/V Milano Bridge with a Pusan container terminal, damaging gantry cranes. With different limitation amounts under the Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims, multiple liability proceedings are pending in Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
