Overview

Pioneer Legal was established in 2019 by Satish Kishanchandani, Narendra Dingankar and Pritha Jha. Now, the numbers stand at six partners and more than 35 lawyers, with the firm rapidly gaining recognition for its high-quality corporate and private equity work. The firm moves up a tier in the technology and telecommunications table. The Pioneer team works across a swathe of sectors like education, advertising, healthcare, pharma, financial services and logistics. Apart from the corporate focus, the firm is also active in employment, insurance, IP, infrastructure, project finance and TMT matters. The firm has national expansion plans and will soon start its commercial litigation and arbitration practice in Mumbai. The other key partners and corporate specialists are Mayank Mehta, Shoubhik Dasgupta, Anupam Shukla and Sanket Jain.

Work highlights 

Acted for Tata Capital Healthcare Fund on acquiring a 15% stake in Anderson, a Chennai Diagnostics company, for $6.78 million 

Assisted Gold Plus Glass Industry in relation to its issuance of compulsorily convertible debentures on a private placement basis to Kotak Special Situations Fund and PI Opportunities Fund I – Scheme II.  

Dispute resolution

Work highlights 

Represented an individual in a writ petition which was filed for quashing and setting aside of the look out circular issued against the client by the Bureau of Immigration at the behest of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office, preventing the client from leaving the country.

Work highlights 

Advised Dentsu Group in relation to its acquisition of a majority stake in Extentia Information Technology.  

Represented Alcon Electronics, the exiting promoters and other shareholders of Alcon on its sale to Exxelia, a French MNC. 

Technology and telecommunications

Work highlights 

Advised Merkle in relation to key data privacy-related issues in connection with Dentsu Group's acquisition of Extentia.  

Engaged by Multiverse Technologies to help set up a platform called MyLocal for the purpose of connecting cab drivers and service providers with its large customer base.
