Work highlights
Successfully represented PJ Centrestage Joint Management Body in a legal claim relating to 342 car park bays, landscaped areas, rooftop spaces, the reception area and façade at a property development. The firm initiated legal action against the developer, Cherish Springs, and Leadmont Properties after finding out Leadmont was planning to dispose of these disputed common areas to a third party. The firm then obtained an interim injunction preventing any dealings with the disputed common areas pending the legal claim. The court ultimately allowed the client’s claim, ruling the disputed areas are common property. The legal team is now pursuing damages on the client’s behalf.
Represented an Indian citizen in obtaining a declaration of citizenship by operation of law pursuant to being born overseas to a Malaysian mother. This case highlights the gender discrimination faced by Malaysian mothers who gave birth to their children overseas.
Representing FELDA Investment Corporation, a government-linked shareholder in a government-linked company, concerning a dispute over a failed management buyout of shares in the company by other shareholders.
