Overview

Law Partnership provides a range of contentious and advisory IP services with a particular sector focus on technology and telecommunications. With a focus on IP prosecution, strategy and litigation, the firm has expanded its IP practice to cover the full spectrum of services, including patent drafting, enforcement and high-level raid actions, often in collaboration with Malaysian government agencies. This growth has enabled the firm to advise prominent international clients within a short span. Besides IP, the firm is also building expertise in labour and employment and commercial litigation. Work highlights 

Representing a multinational low-cost airline’s application programme in resisting a claim filed by the Malaysian flag carrier airline and its subsidiary for an alleged infringement of its trademarks. The findings and decisions following this dispute will add to the developments of intellectual property law in Malaysia as well as in industries and sectors that operate within e-commerce. ​

Assisted the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) in an effort that materialised in the raid of a warehouse which led to the seizure of about 10,040 litres of fake Shell lubricants, worth RM111,300 ($23,950). Two local men at the site were also arrested and remanded in the course of the investigation. The successful raid, seizing many litres of counterfeit engine oil packaged under a major brand, was a significant victory against intellectual property infringement. ​

Representing one of the largest global insurance providers in a matter for breach of confidentiality by their former employee pertaining to confidential and sensitive information.
