Work highlights

Represented Guangdong Oppo Electronics Industry in several standard essential patent infringement disputes against Advanced Codec Technologies. This is the first case in which a US non-practicing entity initiated a patent infringement lawsuit against a Chinese entity in China.

Represented Contemporary Amperex Technology in two patent infringement lawsuits against Jiangsu Tafel New Energy Technology. The lawsuits were filed before the Fujian Higher Court and the Intermediate Court of Fuzhou City, involving five patents.

Advised Yuan Guan (Shanghai) Intelligence Technology on the legal structuring of the first non-fungible token art auction carried out in China, including matters related to copyright, commercial contract, auction law, data privacy and compliance, anti-money laundering, crypto compliance and NFT-related compliance.

Work highlights

Represented Hunan Shale Gas Development, a large state-owned sole proprietorship power generation corporation, in defending a series of contract disputes initiated by an affiliate of Hunan Coalfield Geological Bureau over explorations rights.

Represented Beijing Phoenix United Hospital Management Consulting in a contract dispute against a regional large non-profit hospital and its sponsor. The case is the first dispute in China involving the investment-operate-transfer (IOT) model.

Advised Huagai Capital on the establishment of a Rmb800 million secondary fund for the purpose of acquiring a number of high-quality projects held by three RMB funds under Huagai Capital. This is the first RMB-denominated secondary fund raised by a Chinese sponsor in the GP-led secondary transactions.

Advised a syndicate led by United Overseas Bank on onshore-offshore facilities to 18 onshore and offshore borrowers held by Blackstone fund for the refinancing of 10 China logistics portfolios, with the onshore facilities amount at around Rmb1.3 billion ($186 million)in aggregate and the offshore facilities amount of around $288 million in aggregate.
