Work highlights

Represented a sovereign state in applying for recognition and enforcement of an International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes arbitration award in China. This is the first case in China to apply for the recognition and enforcement of an ICSID arbitration award.

Represented a Chongqing industrial company and a Chongqing mining company in the arbitration of a Rmb160 million ($22.4 million) contract dispute with the Chongqing branch of a state-owned enterprise.

Restructuring and insolvency

Work highlights

Advised Xineng Energy Equipment on transitioning from bankruptcy liquidation to reorganisation, resolving a debt of Rmb4.1 billion ($573 million) and addressing the corporate income tax issue related to reorganisation gains.

Advised GAC Mitsubishi Motors on completing the debt restructuring. This case is particularly significant as the entire debt is not only huge in scale, amounting to more than Rmb8 billion ($1.1 billion), but also complex and controversial.

Work highlights

Advised Beijing Compass Technology Development on acquiring a public offering fund by judicial auction for a risk-resolution project. This case was selected as the “Benchmark Case” by Legal Version, a famous domestic information service agency.

Advised Cpi Xinjiang Energy Chemical Group on the issuance of different debt instruments. The instruments include the 2025 first phase innovation-oriented corporate bonds for professional investors, the 2024 first phase medium-term notes, and the 2024 first phase ultra-short-term financing notes.
