Career highlights: Vivien Chan is the founding and senior partner of Vivien Chan & Co, a Greater China law firm with offices in Hong Kong and Beijing. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and has recently recognized as WIPR Influential Women in IP 2020 and WIPR Leaders of the Year 2020. Vivien was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2008 and Silver Bauhinia Star in 2014 by the HKSAR Government for her outstanding contributions to Hong Kong.
Vivien is a Justice of the Peace and a past president of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. She is a Notary Public, a Notarial Attesting Officer in PRC, and an arbitrator at China International Economic Trade Arbitration Commission Arbitrator, Shanghai International Arbitration Center and the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission.
Also, Ms Chan has held leadership positions in major legal boards and associations. She was the vice chair, council member and advisory board member of the International Bar Association’s Asia-Pacific Regional Forum. She was the council member of the Law Society of Hong Kong.
Chan’s legal expertise is well-acknowledged and is an active committee’s member of the Anticounterfeiting Committee of the International Trademark Association.
Education and professional experience: Vivien received her law degree from King's College, University of London, and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore. Vivien is fluent in English, Mandarin, French and Cantonese.
Awards: Vivien was rewarded by Asialaw Profiles as a Leading Lawyer in areas of Intellectual Property since 2013. She was ranked as Trademark Lawyers, Patent Lawyers and Management Labour and Employment Lawyers by the International Who’s Who Legal from 2010 to 2020. She constantly recommended as leading leaders in Chamber and Partners of Asia-Pacific and Global Guide.
