Career highlights: Ms. Maneja regularly represents Philippine conglomerates and their partners in bidding and negotiating PPP contracts. Her projects include the US$5 billion acquisition by Global Infrastructure Partners of the renewable energy portfolio of Equis Energy with projects in the Philippines (2017); and the US$1.3 Billion bidding for, and financing of, the expansion, operations and maintenance of the Light Rail Transit Line 1, which was voted Transport Deal of the Year in the Triple A Asia Infrastructure Awards and Asia-Pacific Rail Deal of the Year at the IJGlobal Awards (2016). She has also been involved in PPP projects relating to water, tollroads and electric distribution.
She also advises clients on competition law implications of proposed business arrangements and acts as competition counsel before Philippine Competition Commission. She acted for Sanofi when it acquired the consumer healthcare business of Boehringer Ingelheim (and this is the first clearance issued after substantive review), Grab when it acquired Uber’s assets and business in the Philippines (and this was the first case wherein the PCC conducted motu proprio review of a non-notifiable deal), and GlaxoSmithKline when it acquired the consumer healthcare business of Pfizer (and this was unconditionally cleared after Phase II review).
