Mohamed Idwan (Kiki) Ganie is the managing partner of Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo (LGS). He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia and holds a PhD in Law from the University of Hamburg. Dr Ganie is chairman of both the Association of Indonesian Anti-Trust Lawyers (PERKUMPUS), and the Indonesian Court of Arbitration of Sport (BAKI). He is a member of PERADI (Indonesian Advocates Association) and HKHPM (Indonesian Association of Capital Market Legal Consultants). He is a member of the regional panel of arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) based in Lausanne, Switzerland and a Fellow (FSIArb) of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
With more than 30 years’ legal experience, he specialises in commercial transactions and litigation, including alternative dispute resolution, and has acted as an expert in a number of court and arbitration proceedings. His expertise covers general corporate/company law, banking law, finance, bankruptcy and restructuring, mining, investment, acquisitions, infrastructure projects/project finance, antitrust, and shipping/aviation, with a particular focus on corporate governance and compliance.
LGS was founded in 1985 by Timbul Thomas Lubis, Dr Ganie and Arief Tarunakarya Surowidjojo. Since then, LGS has grown into the largest corporate transaction and corporate litigation firm in Indonesia. LGS holds Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance certification ISO 9001:2008 for quality management systems and ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management systems, demonstrating the quality of all aspects of the firm’s operations and services.
