Daksha’s vast experience on international taxation comes through working over 30 years with global organisations, multinational companies in Europe and the UK as well as foreign companies and leading Indian tax law firms. Trained as economics graduate and chartered accountant in England, Daksha’s approach to tax goes to the core of economics, international trade, while appreciating the concerns of the government.
Daksha has advised clients on all aspects of taxation, including structuring of cross border mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and reorganisations as well as spin offs of businesses. Her clients range from multinational corporations to private equity, venture capital funds, not for profit organisations, Ivy League universities, listed and unlisted companies across all sectors. She successfully advises clients in tax controversies before various forums and tax authorities on a wide variety of issues such as availing tax treaty benefits, invocation of anti-avoidance rules and characterisation of income. She offers innovative structures for employee benefits and equity based compensation across jurisdictions. She has advised many prominent families and high net worth individuals on their estate and succession planning and family arrangements.
Currently Daksha heads the International Tax Practice at the premier Indian law firm, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and is based out of Mumbai.
