Wonsik Yoon

Wonsik Yoon is a managing partner of BLP Law Offices. He is qualified to practice law in Korea and California. Prior to joining BLP in 2019, he worked as a partner for Barun Law LLC for 16 years, serving as the Co-Chair of the International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice Group.

Mr. Yoon has successfully handled numerous international arbitration cases before leading institutions including KCAB, AAA/ICDR, ICC and LCIA both as counsel and arbitrator. He has also successfully represented domestic and foreign clients in court proceedings in multiple jurisdictions including the Supreme Court of Korea.

He also has extensive experience in corporate advisory, real estate, M&A, international transaction, and cross-border investment matters.

• Successfully represented a global energy company in two KCAB international arbitration cases involving nuclear power plant construction projects in Korea (claim amount: USD35million and USD6million).
• Successfully obtained enforcement judgment for a U.S. judgment from the Korean court (enforcement amount: USD10million).
• Advising the U.S. government on Korean law issues and assisting in gathering evidence in Korea in relation to a high-profile U.S. lawsuit regarding crypto asset securities.
• Successfully advised and represented various foreign clients in collection matters in Korea, including recovery of legal fees unpaid by Korean clients to foreign law firms.
• Advised various foreign clients, including GE, LEONI AG, Conde Nast, and Rheem Manufacturing on various Korean law issues, including labor law, M&A, and bankruptcy law.
