Career highlights: Stefanus Haryanto is one of the founding partners of Adnan Kelana Haryanto & Hermanto, an Indonesian law firm with offices in Jakarta and Batam Island. He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Parahyangan Catholic University for 13 years, before entering into private practice in Jakarta. As a lecturer, he taught Indonesian jurisprudence, logic for lawyers, alternative dispute resolution and environmental law.
In addition to teaching law at university he has also devoted his time to working in the Legal Aid Institute of the university as director and public defender. As a litigation lawyer, Stefanus has been involved in high-profile international arbitration cases as well as domestic ones. He is also very active in defending clients in antitrust, environmental, administrative, insurance, bankruptcy, criminal, construction, and consumer protection cases. In addition to his practice as a senior litigator, Stefanus has also served as an expert witness on Indonesian law in several jurisdictions in the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia.
Stefanus received his law degree from Parahyangan Catholic University in Indonesia and studied English at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC, Canada, before enrolling at Dalhousie Law School, Halifax, Canada, where he obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
