Eugene Thuraisingam LLP is a premier dispute resolution practice specialising in disputes and investigations. Recently named as one of the “Firms to Watch 2019” in Singapore by Asian Legal Business, we are the choice firm for any client seeking an experienced, committed and conflict-free team of lawyers to conduct complex commercial disputes.
At the highest Court levels, we have pursued novel lines of argument and persuaded the Courts to find in favour of our clients in uncharted areas of the law: see for example Ramesh s/o Krishnan v AXA Life Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd SGHC 197.
We are also experienced criminal defence lawyers who are well-versed in the art of cross-examination. Our team of counsel currently comprises Eugene Thuraisingam, Suang Wijaya, Chooi Jing Yen, Syazana Yahya, Johannes Hadi, Hamza Malik, and Lock Zhi Yong.
Arbitration is a core practice area for the firm. We are regularly instructed to act in high-stakes, high-value disputes.
We are adept at both domestic and international arbitrations and are familiar with the major international arbitral institutions. We can act independently or alongside our regional affiliates, especially where the dispute is complex and multi-jurisdictional. We are also able to coordinate a strong global strategy where the dispute engages multiple stakeholders with varying interests from different jurisdictions.
Our proven track record, both in and out of Court, is evidence of our deep knowledge of commercial realities and our familiarity with the business environment in which our clients operate. These industries include shipping, oil and gas, banking and financial services and insurance. We are also regularly instructed on regulatory investigations, white-collar crime and professional disciplinary proceedings involving doctors, lawyers and accountants.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We give back to society by accepting pro bono assignments from the Supreme Court of Singapore’s Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences - where offenders facing capital punishment are assigned a lawyer if they cannot afford one - and the Law Society of Singapore’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme for less serious crimes. We are also committed to the protection of fundamental liberties and are the choice firm for public interest litigation in Singapore.
We regularly participate in fundraising and are a proud sponsor of Pink Dot, Yellow Ribbon Project, the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and others.

“Despite how straightforward the case was, we were very delighted with the firm's work (mostly because we won). Additionally, it was great for us that we were billed per stage as opposed to by-the-hour.” – Dispute resolution
