The former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Tateshi Higuchi reclaimed his position as an advisor to Nishimura & Asahi on April 1. Having served as the superintendent general of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, he advised the firm’s corporate criminal practice before being appointed to as ambassador to Myanmar in 2014.
Higuchi’s experience on matters related to cyber security, money laundering, protection of industrial and trade secrets, and export control matters as well as his experience as an ambassador bolsters the firm’s corporate criminal practice, particularly in its Yangon office.
