Wangying Zhu of Jingtian & Gongcheng is our April lawyer of the month for her lead role in Chinese circuit board maker Victory Giant Technology’s HK$20.1 billion ($2.6 billion) Hong Kong IPO. As the largest listing in Hong Kong since Zijin Gold’s $3.2 billion offering in September 2025, this landmark transaction marks a significant milestone for the region’s technology sector. Victory Giant, a specialist in advanced printed circuit boards (PCB) for AI and high-performance computing, plans to leverage the proceeds to bolster its capabilities in AI, electric vehicles, and high-speed telecommunications applications.

As a partner at Jingtian & Gongcheng, Zhu brings extensive experience in capital markets transactions. Her practice spans domestic and overseas listings, private equity and venture capital investments, and cross-border M&A, with particular expertise in public offerings across both Hong Kong and US markets. She has advised clients across a diverse range of sectors, including internet finance, education, advertising, and TMT.

Zhu’s extensive portfolio in equity capital markets includes several high-profile "red chip" and H-share listings. She served as China legal counsel to the sponsors for the landmark Hong Kong listings of Xiaomi Group and Yixin Group, and represented the issuers in the Hong Kong IPOs of Sichuan Energy Investment, Bojun Education, and Golden Throat Holding Group. Her expertise also extends to the US markets, where she advised iQIYI on its US listing as issuer’s counsel and acted for the underwriters in Niu Technologies’ NASDAQ debut.

Zhu received dual bachelor's degrees in law and English from Beijing Normal University and later obtained a master's degree in international business law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English, allowing her to bridge the gap for domestic enterprises seeking global capital.
