Howard Chan specializes in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, contentious regulatory and corporate compliance matters related to Hong Kong jurisdiction. With the addition of Howard, Jia Yuan will strength its capabilities in cross-border dispute resolution and is able to provide clients with more efficient and quality services across multi-jurisdictions.

Wenxing Feng focuses on IPOs and public offerings, securities regulatory compliance, private equity investments and financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial transactions across the Asia-Pacific regions. Wengxin's arrival will enhance Jia Yuan's capabilities and coverage in overseas capital market practice.

Both of them and their teams will be primarily based in the Jia Yuan's Hong Kong office.

Howard Chan

Howard is a seasoned expert in cross-border disputes, with nearly 20 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including contractual, financial, and corporate disputes involving private and listed companies, investors, shareholders, and joint ventures—often with cross-border elements and related regulatory or criminal implications.  Howard also regularly acts in cases requiring urgent injunctive relief and other interim relief applications in high-stakes disputes.  In 2015, Howard was granted higher rights of audience, a distinction that permits select highly qualified litigators to appear as solicitor advocate before all levels of the Hong Kong High Court.

Howard also has extensive experience in contentious regulatory and compliance matters, including anti-corruption investigations and representing board committees of Hong Kong-listed companies in conducting independent internal investigations into alleged management misconduct, financial irregularities, and regulatory breaches.  He has been recognized by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Asialaw for his contentious regulatory and investigations practice.  Howard's recent notable publications include: contributing editor of Hong Kong Civil Procedure (2025 edition); co-author of Chambers Global Practice Guides (2021 edition) covering Hong Kong civil litigation practice and procedure; co-author of Hong Kong Regulatory Enforcement Developments and Outlook (2020).

With Howard's arrival, Jia Yuan's Hong Kong office will work closely with the firm's dispute resolution lawyers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xi'an and other places.  Jia Yuan focuses on providing comprehensive one-stop dispute resolution network to Asian "Belt and Road" parties as well as parties within developed countries and regions in Europe and Americas i.e. the "10 Countries and 11 Regions", covering disputes administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), as well as before Mainland and Hong Kong courts, providing clients with seamless cross-border dispute management services.
