asialaw Profiles 2019, the guide to the region’s leading domestic and regional firms is now live.
asialaw Profiles provides law firm recommendations and editorial analysis of key practice areas and industry sectors across 25 jurisdictions from Australia to Vietnam.
*NEW* Industry sectors
As the legal market becomes ever more sophisticated and clients are increasingly requiring and valuing industry expertise and know-how, asialaw Profiles has introduced additional industry sector ranking categories to better inform the market.
The new categories recognise a firm or lawyer’s expertise in a sector not a particularly area of practice and are designed to guide buyers of legal services who need commercial industry knowledge that goes beyond the traditional legal practice area definitions.
To accommodate this change, you will see that we have divided out ranking categories into two groups, with traditional legal practice area rankings in blue and industry sector tables in green.
Industry sectors we cover *NEW*:

Our rankings are based on three key criteria:
(i) Work evidence – gleaned from firm submissions and press releases;
(ii) Client feedback – all client referees submitted to us are invited to take part in a survey where they can rate and comment on the firm’s they have used; and
(iii) Peer feedback – our research team conducts hundreds of interviews with lawyers to gather their feedback on the market and our rankings.
We are a qualitative survey and we look, so while we take deal and case value and volumes into account the rankings are not determined by these factors.
