Bhavik Timbadia (pictured) has become a partner in the transfer practice of BMR & Associates. He will be based in the firm’s Gurgaon office. BMR Legal’s tax practice is rated as outstanding in the 2016 edition of Asialaw Profiles.
Timbadia formerly worked for a Big 4 firm in Mumbai. His experience is in preparing contemporaneous documentation, advising on planning opportunities, negotiating advance pricing arrangements and dispute resolution. He has worked on APAs and advising clients on the transfer pricing aspects of debt such as interest rate pricing, thin capitalisation and pricing of hybrid debt structures. He led a team that concluded three APAs including interest attribution to a permanent establishment in India, provision of back- office services and investment advisory activities.
Timbadia is a chartered accountant and has a master's degree in economics.
