Masakazu Iwakura and Gyo Toda join TMI Associates
Corporate/M&A lawyers Masakazu Iwakura and Gyo Toda have joined TMI Associates’ Tokyo office as partners. Iwakura has more than 30 years of experience advising clients on M&A, IP and entertainment law matters. Toda has in-depth knowledge of corporate, commercial and business law matters. Both partners were previously with Nishimura & Asahi.
Anand & Anand announces four senior promotions
Indian IP firm Anand & Anand has promoted two new partners and two directors:
- Nupur Maithani, partner, focuses on biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical patenting;
- Manish Biala, partner, leads the firm’s customs practice;
- Gitanjali Bhatnagar, director, specialises in telecommunications, software and information technology; and
- Abhhishek Magotra, director, specialises in mechanical patents.
New senior partner at J Sagar Associates
Amit Kapur will become senior partner of J Sagar Associates in India on April 1. Kapur leads the firm’s regulatory and policy, and infrastructure practices. He will be replacing Berjis Desai, who will retire on March 31.
Dentons Rodyk hires Edmund Leow as tax partner
Dentons Rodyk has hired former judicial commissioner Edmund Leow to lead the firm’s tax practice in Singapore. He brings with him 29 years of legal experience advising multinational organisations on cross-border tax planning, transfer pricing and tax disputes. Before becoming a judicial commissioner in 2013, Leow was head of the tax and wealth management practice of Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow.
