Gail Ong of WongPartnership is our October lawyer of the month for her lead role in AvePoint’s groundbreaking $202 million listing on the Singapore Exchange (SGX), the first-ever dual listing on Nasdaq and SGX. The deal sets a new precedent in cross-border capital markets structures and underscores Singapore’s growing prominence as a hub for technology listings.

As head of WongPartnership’s equity capital markets practice, Ong brings extensive experience advising issuers and underwriters on US-registered and Rule 144A/Reg S equity and debt offerings across Southeast and South Asia. Her impressive track record includes advising on landmark IPOs such as VTAC (SGX’s first SPAC and subsequent de-SPAC), APAC Realty, IHH Healthcare, and secondary listings by NIO and Sri Trang Gloves. She has also led listings on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Stock Exchange of Thailand, cementing her reputation as a leading authority on cross-border capital markets transactions.

Prior to joining WongPartnership, she practised US securities law at the Singapore and New York offices of a leading international law firm. Ong is admitted to both the New York State Bar and the Singapore Bar. She currently serves as Chair of the Law Society’s Equity Capital Markets Committee and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Singapore Institute of Technology.
