On 1st January 2019, litigation and real estate firm Federal & Rashmikant split up in Mumbai after its 44-year mainstay in the Indian legal market.

The two new entities are known as Federal & Company and Rashmikant and Partners, with Muffazal Federal taking eight lawyers and 20 lawyers making the move with C Rashmikant.

Having established itself in 1975, the firm now splits as the name partners pursue their individual visions of future growth. The firm had previously built itself repute in the market representing lawyer Cyril Shroff in his dispute with brother Shardul, and acting for law firm Little & Co in its break from Fox Mandal.
