James Cheng is a partner and has been with Tsar & Tsai Law Firm since 1992. He has extensive experience in corporate, M&A, cross-border transactions, insurance, renewable energy and BOT project.

James has represented private firms, international companies, financial or strategic investors and Taiwanese companies in their investments, acquisitions, financing and divestment, large commercial contracts in Taiwan, PRC, Japan, USA, UK and German. The industries covered by James include the ICT, insurance, MSO, media, hotel, land development, manufacturing, logistics and franchise chain, and pharmacy. James also successfully assisted several Taiwanese entrepreneurs for their joint venture with global leading manufacturers in the Great China market.

James advises a wide range of clients on corporate governance matters, dispute and regulatory investigation or assessment. James was listed as one of the two ”Eminent Practitioners” of Corporate and M&A in Chamber Asia-Pacific 2020 and 2021.

Assisting FuSheng Precision, the world’s largest supplier of high quality titanium and stainless steel golf equipment, for its cross-border acquisition of Minson Group, which is a leading manufacturer of sports equipment in Taiwan and Thailand, together with a Taiwanese PE fund in the amount of approximate US$100 million.

Assisting Eris Technology Corporation for its 100% acquisition of Yea Shin Technology Co., Ltd., which is engaged in semiconductor assembly and discrete components, by serious steps including land purchase, purchase of part of issued shares, subscription of new shares and exchange of minor shareholders’ shares and the aggregate transaction amount is around US$47 million.

Assisting the shareholders of Neuto Chemic Corporation for disposing all of shares to Brenntag in the amount around US$28 million.
