Career highlights: Mr. John Lim has more than a decade of post-qualification experience with his core practice in building and construction law. He has been involved in trials, arbitration and statutory adjudications and performed front-end work.
Some notable cases Mr. Lim has been involved include acting in a dispute between Singapore Turf Club and project consultants over the proposed addition and alteration work to a conservation building, and in 2016 he led a group of sub-contractors for outstanding payments for work at Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 4 project.
Singapore law reported cases include Shin Khai Construction Pte Ltd v FL Wong Construction Pte Ltd  SGHCR 4, Sentosa Building Construction Pte Ltd v DJ Builders & Contractors Pte Ltd  SGHC 18, Re Punj Lloyd Pte Ltd and another matter  SGHC 321 and Gursahib Singh v Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor (Pte) Ltd t/a Samsung-Koh Brothers Joint Venture and others  SGDC 127.
In 2020, Mr. Lim was appointed to the Panel of Assessors pursuant to the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, which seeks to offer temporary relief to businesses and individuals who are unable to perform their contractual obligations because of COVID-19.
