Restructuring and insolvency
Suresh graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1993, and started his career at one of Singapore’s largest law firms. He was a partner there for the better part of 2000 – 2010. In 2002 Suresh left Singapore to spend a year as a Legal Officer at the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, where he reviewed war reparations claims arising out of the first Gulf war. He returned to Singapore in 2003. In 2010, Suresh joined Straits Law Practice, where he served as head of its Litigation Department. He established Nair & Co LLC in 2017.
Nair & Co merged with PK Wong & Associates in 2020, and the resulting firm, PK Wong & Nair, entered into a JLV with Mayer Brown in 2022, to form Mayer Brown PK Wong & Nair Pte Ltd, in which Suresh serves as a Director.
Suresh’s main areas of practice are corporate and commercial litigation, banking and financial services litigation, international arbitration, insolvency and restructuring.
Suresh has also been admitted to the rolls of solicitors of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He serves as an advocacy trainer for advocates and solicitors doing the Singapore Bar Examination. He also serves as a Racing Steward at the Singapore Turf Club, as well as a Judicial Officer with the Singapore Rugby Union. He is also a Fellow of Insolvency Practitioners' Association of Singapore.
