Hsian founded Hsian & Co. in April 2021 and has in excess of 24 years practising in the Corporate M&A and Corporate Real Estate space. Prior to this, Hsian had spent more than 16 years at the Malaysian member firm of a Global Law Firm, where he was a partner in the Corporate & Securities Department and the Head of the Real Estate Practice Group and Korea Focus Group.

Hsian’s experience in Corporate M&A includes assisting clients, both foreign and Malaysian, with their investments in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region. This includes Corporate M&A transactions, structuring advice, reorganisation and restructuring exercises, joint ventures, take-overs and advising on operational and regulatory matters.

In respect of Corporate Real Estate matters, Hsian assists on high-value, complex transactions, typically assisting foreign clients with their investments into Malaysia via asset or share deals. With Hsian’s background in Corporate M&A, in addition to the real estate portion of a transaction, he assists clients seamlessly with all aspects of the transaction, including advice on incorporation, structuring and regulatory matters. In the hospitality space, Hsian is known for his experience with hospitality documentation, hotel management agreements and ancillary agreements.

Clients range from MNCs, Funds, Property Owners, Developers, Hotel Operators and Asset users.

Hsian has also been Counsel for a US MNC and also spent 7+ years with 2 other Malaysian leading legal firms.

 

  • Counsel for a German automobile manufacturer for its tender for the construction and long term lease of its new SEA logistics hub.
  • Counsel for the World’s largest hotel operator and its Indonesian headquartered JV Partner for the proposed disposal of a 398 room 5-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
