Career highlights: Mr. Tanjib-ul Alam is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Having over 20 years of experience in the legal arena in Bangladesh, he holds vast experience in advising cross border M&A transactions and representing domestic and international clients. In numerous corporate and debt financing, Mr Alam advised banks and institutional investors in financing transactions, including complex project financing and syndicated financing. He is frequently engaged as counsel in high value arbitrations under Bangladeshi laws. Recently, he advised a high profile FDI in Bangladesh representing Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. in its off-loading of shares to Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. He was also the lead local counsel in the merger of the second and fourth largest telecom operators in Bangladesh, namely the Robi-Airtel merger. He advised bKash Ltd. in its recent transaction with Alibaba Group in acquisition of equity stake, the largest investment in Fintech section of Bangladesh. Mr. Alam has a long list of clientele in energy and infrastructure sector and is widely regarded as one of the leading experts. In addition, Mr. Alam was appointed as the lead consultant by the IFC in the Company Law Reform project to draft a new Companies Act for Bangladesh.
