Work highlights 

Assisted KPJ Healthcare in the disposal of its Indonesian hospital operations by way of a share sale agreement with the purchasers for a total consideration of about RM150 million ($32 million). The disposal of the Indonesian hospital operations forms part of KPJ’s restructuring of its hospital operations in Indonesia as a result of the challenges faced by KPJ as a foreign investor in Indonesia. 

Representing a foreign investor on a potential acquisition of a Malaysian telecommunications tower company. The deal may be the first case where the terms of the Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement is invoked to allow a foreign investor to own up to 70% of shares in a telecommunications tower company in Malaysia. The potential acquisition also comes at a time when the Malaysian government is looking to complete the nationwide 5G rollout, which would require telecommunications tower companies to establish more telecommunications tower sites across Malaysia to cater for the 5G rollout. 

Represented a private company on the acquisition of the business and assets of a company that is involved in the hotel sector. Upon completion of the deal, the client successfully acquired an existing hotel in Kuala Lumpur and its operations, which is part of the client’s plans to expand their business in investments and hotel management.
