Analysis

Overview

IndusLaw is a modern full-service firm that is rapidly coming up the ranks as a challenger to the established order of top legacy firms. This year, it moves up a notch in the real estate rankings and expanded by opening a new office in Gurugram. In total, the pan-India coverage includes offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and the aforementioned Gurugram. The firm takes pride in its growing prominence among sophisticated clients for its private equity and TMT work. It specialises in working with investors across the full funding lifecycle and on a variety of funds including sector-specific ones such as technology, life sciences, e-commerce, retail and infrastructure. The capital markets team remains active, securing some of this year’s largest mandates for both issuers and bookrunners on more than 24 transactions. While maintaining a secure foothold at the forefront of ECM work, it is busy diversifying its suite of experience into newer products such as SPACs and business trusts, block deals and debt capital markets work.

There were several noteworthy inflows and outflows of talent this year. Banking partner Ashutosh Narang joined from Luthra and Luthra Law Offices last October. Corporate specialists Amrit Mehta and Shantanu Jindel joined from Majmudar & Partners and JSA, respectively, while partners Anubha Sital and Divya Varghese departed for in-house roles. On the disputes side, partners Maneesha Kongovi and Sourasubha Ghosh arrived from Argus Partners and Hariani & Co, respectively.
