Career highlights: Shweta Shroff Chopra is a senior partner in the firm's competition law practice. Her clients include Temasek, Mitsui, BHP Billiton, ExxonMobil, Alstom, Blackstone, Vodafone, JK Group, Coal India, LafargeHolcim, and Tata Chemicals.
Shweta has led high profile enforcement cases including representing Vodafone India in relation to a complaint by Reliance Jio, JK Tyres in the Tyre Cartel case, and ACC in the Cement Cartel case.
On the merger control front, Shweta has acted in Holcim's merger with Lafarge, PVR's acquisition of DT Cinemas, GE's acquisition of Alstom's energy business, JK Tyre's acquisition of Kesoram's tyre unit, and Brookfield's acquisition of Reliance Communications' tower business, among others. She is advising Vodafone India on its proposed $23 billion merger with Idea Cellular.
In Chambers and Partners rankings, Shweta has been ranked in band 2 for both 2016 and 2017. She has been recognised in the International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists every year since 2013. She has also been profiled in Asialaw Leading Lawyers and Global Competition Review's Women in Antitrust 2016 and featured by Legal Era in its 2016 list of '40 Under 40 Rising Stars'.
Shweta is also a non-governmental advisor to the CCI for the International Competition Network.
