Career highlights: Mr Mrinal Kumar is a partner with the firm and specialises in the areas of general corporate, real estate and retail. He has worked extensively in the real estate practice area on structuring and strategising transactions, advising on foreign direct investment laws, land acquisition, local land laws in various states in India, commercial leasing, and settling and negotiating the transaction documents for large domestic and international clients.
Mrinal was also involved in advising the Government of India and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation on the drafting of the rules for the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, and the Model Rent Act. Some of the prominent matters on which Mrinal has advised include assisting DLF with the sale of the promoter's stake in DCCDL, the rental arm of DLF; and, advisory services to China Fortune Land and Development, and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services on the development of a model economic township in Haryana. He has also advised Tata Realty & Infrastructure and Standard Chartered Private Equity Advisory (India) on the acquisition of the 100% share capital of an SEZ company in Gurgaon.
