Career highlights: Fadjar is the founder of Kandar & Partners and has more than 20 years’ legal experience. Before establishing Kandar & Partners, Fadjar was a partner in a prominent Indonesian law firm. Before this, he was with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in its Singapore office for more than four years and, earlier on, with other prominent Indonesian law firms. He is recognised as a leading Indonesian lawyer in the energy and natural resources as well as infrastructure sectors.
Throughout his career, Fadjar has advised local and multinational companies on project development and transactions in the energy and natural resources sectors for clients such as BP, Pertamina, CNOOC, Thiess, Shell, Aneka Tambang, Repsol, Medco Energy and Marathon Oil. He has also assisted in project financings as well as acquisitions of interests, assets or shares for IFC, Seadrill Group, Tanker Pacific Management, Temasek, Saudi Telecoms Company and PT Axis Telekom Indonesia and Nokia Solutions Network.
Fadjar has advised clients participating in Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects, including development of the bulk water supply system in Bandar Lampung by Manila Water Company and PT Gunung Sewu Kencana; and the Batam municipality waste to energy project by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) and Asian Development Bank.
Fadjar has been named by Asialaw as one of the leading lawyers in Asia for energy and natural resources for two consecutive years. He is also recognised as a leading corporate governance, regulatory and government lawyer and has received other accolades from various other institutions.
