Career highlights: Yong Sook Kwon is a member of Jipyong’s corporate practice group, and his expertise encompasses M&A, cross-border deals, antitrust and competition, resources as well as energy and infrastructure. Since 2011, Yong Sook has led Jipyong’s Indonesian practice team and handled around 350 matters, ranging from advisory services to litigation.
Until 2010, while he was mainly based in Seoul office, he advised THREE SEVEN and Eco Energy Holdings on their acquisition transactions, Dong Yang on its bid for the purchase of Yeareum Savings Bank, and Golden Oil on its investment activities. Some of the notable corporate litigation cases he has handled include a litigation regarding the prize of instant lottery of the United Lottery and cancellation of a security trust representing I&E.
Since 2011, after finishing his study in the US, he has been covering both Korea and Indonesia for Korean clients with investment in Indonesia. His noteworthy work relating to Indonesia includes assisting JC Chemical on its acquisition of PT Niagamas Gemilang, a local palm plantation company, and advising Shinhan Card on its acquisition of PT Swadharma Indotama Finance.
Yong Sook received his LLB from Korea University (2001) and his LLM from Boston University School of Law (2011).
