Career highlights: Jackson Shuai-Sheng Huang is a partner at Formosa Transnational law firm and specialises in cross-border litigation and international arbitration, international trade, corporate and financial regulations, mergers and acquisitions and antitrust law.
Jackson’s notable works is in mergers and acquisitions where he led a team in representing San’an Optoelectronic, China’s largest LED epitaxial wafer maker, in acquiring a 20% stake in Taiwan’s Formosa Epitaxy for NT$2.352 billion (US$80.82 million), in November 2012. To date, this is the largest direct investment by a mainland Chinese company into a Taiwanese company.
He has been editor-in-chief of the firm’s FT Law Review since 2008 and has written articles on laws and investment in mainland China, including The Supreme Challenge of the Future Law Firm: Balancing Stability with Growth in the Ever Changing Society; A Brief Introduction on Anti-Trust Law in China; and A Legal Guide to Doing Business in the Asia-Pacific.
Jackson is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Taipei Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and International Association of Defense Council. He is a member of the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC), member of the Financial and Tax Advisory Committee, the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), former member of the International Economic Relationships Committee, and member of the General Chamber of Commerce of The Republic of China (ROCCOC).
