Withers KhattarWong boosts its Tech and IP capabilities

Withers KhattarWong hires Jonathan Kok from RHTLaw Taylor Wessing as a partner for Technology and Intellectual Property practice as part of Withers Tech’s expansion in Asia.

Kok was the head of IP and Technology practice at the previous firm and he will be joined by his team including Joyce Lee and Eileen Ng.

Kok has more than two decades of experience advising clients from registration, protection, commercialization of their IP and tech assets to data protection, cross-border transfer of technology across sectors including life sciences, technology, media and entertainment, and education.

James Shaw, head of the Withers tech team, commented: "Jonathan's hire is a really important step in the strategic growth of Withers tech in SE Asia. In a fragmented legal sector, this demonstrates our commitment to the ecosystem and support for clients and Jonathan is exactly the right person to drive forward our activities in the region. SE Asia is positioning itself as a leading source of disruption in the global tech market and we see clients with a real hunger for focused expert advice on key specialist areas with global reach, such as data privacy, SaaS, life sciences and direct investment in innovative technology assets."
