BANGKOK, 5 May 2026 – Krissen Pillay has joined Kudun and Partners as Counsel in the firm’s International Practice, where he will lead the firm’s Vietnam-focused offering, with a particular focus on Thai and broader Southeast Asian companies investing in Vietnam. He has over 13 years of experience across South Africa, Vietnam, and Thailand, specialising in M&A, corporate, and banking and finance. Krissen joins from YKVN LLC, where he served as Counsel in Ho Chi Minh City. Prior to YKVN, he worked with Bowmans in Johannesburg and Werksmans in Cape Town.

In a high-value cross-border financing transaction, a foreign lender (the “Lender”), a foreign arranger (the “Arranger”), and a Vietnamese real estate developer (the “Borrower”) entered into a facility agreement (the “Facility Agreement”) under which the Lender agreed to extend a loan of up to USD 400 million. VILAF warmly congratulates SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCG Packaging), a subsidiary of Siam Cement Group, on the successful acquisition of the remaining 30% shares in Duy Tan Plastics Manufacturing Corporation (Duy Tan Plastics), making SCG Packaging the sole shareholder of Vietnam’s leading manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging products. The transaction was made at USD108.6 million.
