Straits Law Practice and M Rama Law Corporation merged on January 1 under the Straits Law Practice name to form an insurance law powerhouse in Singapore.
M Ramasamy, NK Rajarh and the rest of the M Rama team are set to strengthen the depth of Straits Law’s insurance litigation capabilities and broaden the scope of work the firm has to offer.
As well as practising in all forms of insurance litigation, including the defence and recovery of claims in motor and personal injury liabilities, medical and health insurance policies, industrial accidents (including negotiations with Ministry of Manpower) and performance bond and indemnity and business interruption policies. Straits Law Practice has specialists in other areas of the law such as banking & finance, M&A, restructuring & insolvency, infrastructure & project financing, matrimonial and family law, tort and employment law.
The firm has about 60 employees including fee earners after the merger.
Areas of work the M Rama lawyers specialise in include general insurance cases, involving motor, work injury, fire, public liability, contractors all risks, product liability, inland transit, travel and professional indemnity.
