Dentons completes merger with Gadens

More than a year after the merger was approved, global firm Dentons has officially completed its merger with Gadens in Australia. Gadens’ integrated offices in Sydney, Perth and Port Moresby will join the bigger firm while the Brisbane and Adelaide offices will become associates of Dentons. The Melbourne office will remain as Gadens without formal ties to the global firm.

Dibbs Barker hires John Stragalinos

John Stragalinos has joined Dibbs Barker’s Melbourne office as a partner. He specialises in commercial litigation, and restructuring and insolvency. Bringing with him 21 years of experience, he has advised banks, corporates, administrators, receivers, liquidators and creditors on a range of disputes, insolvency administrations and workouts.   

Dan Yang promoted to partner at Colin Biggers & Paisley

Colin Biggers & Paisley has promoted Dan Yang to partner in the firm’s corporate and dispute resolution group. He is also the co-head of the firm’s China practice. He brings with him extensive experience advising on corporate matters, including private and public M&A, joint ventures, disposals and schemes of arrangement.

Farhana Siddiqui joins Withers KhattarWong

Withers KhattarWong has hired Farhana Siddiqui as a corporate partner in Singapore. Siddiqui, who joined from Drew & Napier, is a M&A and finance specialist who covers public and private M&A, debt structuring and restructuring. Many of her clients are family-owned businesses, SMEs and investors from South East Asia.

Zhong Lun Law Firm hires Jianwei Fang

Zhong Lun Law Firm has hired dispute resolution specialist Jianwei Fang as a partner in Shanghai. Fang was previously at Global Law Office and has also worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. A former judge, he has extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration.
