David Kan, a partner of Howse Williams Bowers (HWB) in Hong Kong, can now appear for clients, just like a barrister, in the territory’s Court of First Instance, Court of Appeal and Court of Final Appeal after being granted Higher Rights of Audience and accredited as a solicitor advocate by the Higher Rights Assessment Board in Hong Kong.

Kan is accredited in the civil proceedings category through assessment. He has substantial advocacy experience representing clients before the Coroner's court and at Medical and Dental Council hearings.

HWB is rated as outstanding for dispute resolution in the 2016 edition of Asialaw Profiles.
