Toshimitsu Nemoto of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto (MHM) is our March lawyer of the month for his chief role in Trial Holdings’ sizable initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). Leveraging his more than 18 years of experience in capital markets transactions, Nemoto led the team that advised the underwriters on Trial Holdings’ $258 million IPO. The offering marked the largest debut in Japan this year so far.

Nemoto is a partner at MHM who specialises in banking and finance, financial regulations and M&A. He has acted on numerous complex deal types. For instance, he works with various infrastructure fund issuers and provides advice to clients on the internal operations of listed infrastructure funds.

Nemoto joined MHM in 2005, was a trainee at Ashurst in Sydney and Tokyo from 2012 to 2013 and completed a secondment in 2013-2014 at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities. He was elevated to the partnership at MHM in 2015. He is ranked on asialaw as a notable practitioner for Capital markets.
